Foster to Adopt Program

Our Foster to Adopt program allows an approved foster to take a dog home before all veterinary care is fully completed. If a dog is not yet up to date on required vetting, the placement begins as a Foster to Adopt arrangement. During this time, the dog remains under ownership of Woof Animal Rescue, and the adopter serves as the foster caregiver. The adoption fee & Agreements are due at the time the Adopter elects to proceed with the adoption. Payment of the adoption does not transfer ownership until all required veterinary care has been finalized by Woof Animal Rescue, once all required veterinary care has been completed the Foster to Adopt placement is finalized as a permanent adoption.

I understand that this placement is a Foster-to-Adopt arrangement and that the animal remains the sole property of Woof Animal Rescue until all adoption requirements are completed and a final Adoption Agreement is signed.

I understand that Woof Animal Rescue shall be responsible for providing and covering the cost of core veterinary care required for the foster animal. Core vetting may include, but is not limited to, age-appropriate vaccinations, spay or neuter surgery at 6 months of age, microchipping, and heartworm testing when applicable. All core vetting will be completed by the Rescue prior to finalization of the adoption.

I acknowledge and agree I am responsible for maintaining the adopted dog’s routine preventative veterinary care through my personal veterinarian. This includes, but is not limited to, monthly heartworm prevention, flea prevention, tick prevention, and any other preventative medications or care recommended by my veterinarian. Failure to maintain routine preventative care may be considered a breach of the Adoption Agreement.

I understand that I am financially responsible for any illness, injury or medical care required while the dog is in my care at any time.

I understand that all veterinary appointments and veterinary providers are selected at the sole discretion of Woof Animal Rescue. Appointments may not be canceled, declined, or rescheduled without prior approval from the Rescue. Missed or Canceled Appointments: Should a veterinary appointment be missed, canceled late, or not properly attended, the Foster-to-Adopt shall be financially responsible for all such fees assessed by the veterinary provider.

I understand that all animals must be spayed or neutered at approximately six (6) months of age unless otherwise directed in writing by a Woof Animal Rescue–approved veterinarian due to a documented medical condition.

I understand that all adoption fees are non-refundable.

For Puppies, I understand that a strict "NO Paws on the Ground" (NPOG) rule must be followed in all public or shared areas until fully vaccinated. Failure to follow this rule may result in illness for which I am financially responsible.
